Sweden July 2014

(In Swedish)
"Now that we are moving again, let's just hope our chinese masters don't leave us stranded"

Just Breathe Edition

After a record 629 units sold last month, sales were down to a still respectable 412 sales, pulling the EV Share a bit further north to 1,58%. And to think in July '13 there were just 95 sales...

It looks that the Outlander PHEV fever had quietened a bit, selling just 199 units, but still way above the surprising #2 this July, the Nissan Leaf, that with 62 sales, has beaten its personal record in Sweden by far (Fleet deal?), climbing four positions to #3 YTD.

Below it there's five models separated by just 10(!) units, with the #4 Prius Plug-In (147 units) heading the platoon and the #8 VW e-Up! (137) closing it.

The #9 Renault Zoe sold 25 units this month, earning it a meritable #5 in the monthly ranking, but it's still way behind the #8 position.

At the bottom of the table we see two landings, the BMW i8 made its first three friends in Sweden, while Saab registered its first four electric units of the 9.3, here's our hoping that this will have continuation and we can see a electrified Saab survive in the future.

  1. I've heard about new great Leaf leasing deals at some dealers. Might be the reason of the spike. Let's see how the sales the next few months look like, the €4300 incentives for buying an ultra low emission vehicle has ran out of money and people might hold back their purchase until later this year when they know if that incentive will be back or not.

    1. Thanks for the input, let's hope the incentives continue, now that Sweden has made it to Phase 1 (Passing the 1% Share barrier), it would be a shame to back.

  2. I've got Irish July sales.
    31 LEAFs
    3 ZOEs
    1 Twizy
    1 Kangoo Z.E.

    5 i3s (4 BEV, 1 REX)
4 Outlander PHEVs (22% of Outlander sales) and it turns out 8 PHEVs were sold in the dead month of June, making an astonishing 80% of Outlander sales that month!

The only way I could find the plug-in hybrids is that the PHEV and REX are listed as "Unknown", not Electric or Hybrid.

Even more annoyingly, the brown Tesla Model S I saw 2 weeks ago is not registered. Tesla isn't even on the list! ... But HUMMER is. I think these must be dealership sales. beebbeeb.ie isn't exactly organised, and it's the only one! It's rubbish.
